Governing Framework: Ontario does not currently have its own general private-sector privacy statute, so our handling of personal information collected through the Site is governed primarily by the federal Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act ("PIPEDA"). If information you share with us in the course of arranging care (as opposed to general Site browsing) qualifies as "personal health information" and our organization or staff are acting as a "health information custodian," Ontario's Personal Health Information Protection Act, 2004 ("PHIPA") applies to that information instead, as described in Section 9A below. We note that federal privacy legislation is currently under review — a bill to replace PIPEDA's privacy provisions (Bill C-36) was introduced in Parliament in June 2026 but has not yet become law as of this policy's last update. We will revise this policy as needed if and when that legislation takes effect.

 

1. Scope of This Policy

This policy applies to the Site only. The Site is informational, showcases the types of in-home care services we offer, and does not process any online transactions, bookings, or payments. This policy does not cover information you provide to us outside the Site — for example, during an in-home assessment, over the phone in the course of arranging services, or through a signed service agreement. That information may be subject to a separate client intake or care-services privacy notice.

2. Information We Collect
a) Information You Provide Directly

When you reach out to us through the Site, we may collect information you voluntarily provide, such as:

  • Name and contact details (email address, phone number)
  • The content of messages you send through the chat/dialogue box or email links
  • Any details you choose to share about your care needs or the needs of a family member
b) Information Collected Automatically

Like most websites, the Site may automatically collect limited technical information when you visit, such as:

  • IP address, browser type, and device information
  • Pages viewed, time spent on the Site, and referring/exit pages
  • General location information inferred from your IP address (e.g., city/region level)

This information is typically collected through standard web server logs and, if enabled, analytics tools (see Section 5).

c) Information We Do Not Collect

Because the Site does not process transactions, we do not collect payment card information, billing addresses for purchases, or other e-commerce data through the Site.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information collected to:

  • Respond to your inquiries submitted via email, the chat box, or phone;
  • Provide general information about our in-home care services;
  • Improve the content, usability, and performance of the Site;
  • Maintain the security of the Site and prevent misuse;
  • Comply with applicable legal obligations.

We do not use information collected through the Site to make automated decisions about you, and we do not sell your personal information to third parties.

If we send you commercial electronic messages (such as email follow-ups about our services), we do so in accordance with Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation ("CASL"), meaning we will obtain consent where required, clearly identify ourselves as the sender, and include a functional unsubscribe mechanism in every such message.

4. How We Share Information

We do not sell or rent your personal information. We may share information in limited circumstances:

  • Service providers: With vendors who help us operate the Site (e.g., website hosting, chat widget providers, email service providers), who are authorized to use your information only as necessary to provide services to us.
  • Legal requirements: If required to do so by law, regulation, or valid legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of the Company, our clients, or others.
  • Business transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of business assets, subject to standard confidentiality protections.
5. Cookies and Analytics

The Site may use cookies, pixels, or similar tracking technologies, and third-party analytics tools (such as Google Analytics), to understand how visitors use the Site and to improve its content and performance. These tools may collect information such as your browser type, pages visited, and general location.

Under PIPEDA's ten Fair Information Principles, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you, subject to limited exceptions permitted by law;
  • Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete personal information;
  • Withdraw consent to our collection, use, or disclosure of your personal information at any time, subject to legal or contractual restrictions and reasonable notice;
  • Challenge our compliance with these principles by contacting our privacy contact person (Section 14) and, if unresolved, by filing a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (contact details below).

To exercise any of these rights, please contact us using the information in Section 14. We will respond within a reasonable time and in accordance with PIPEDA.

9A. Personal Health Information (PHIPA)

If information you share with us — for example, through the chat box, email, or phone, or once you become a client — relates to your or a family member's physical or mental health, health history, or care needs, that information may constitute "personal health information" under PHIPA. Where our organization or the relevant staff member is acting as a "health information custodian" under PHIPA, we (or they):

  • Will only collect, use, or disclose your personal health information with your consent, except where PHIPA permits or requires otherwise (e.g., risk of serious harm, legal proceedings);
  • Will designate a contact person responsible for PHIPA compliance;
  • Will provide you with access to, and the ability to request correction of, your personal health information, subject to limited exceptions;
  • Will notify you if your personal health information is affected by a privacy breach, as required by law.

If you believe your personal health information has been mishandled, you may contact our designated privacy contact (Section 14) or file a complaint with the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Ontario:

Whether PHIPA applies to a specific interaction depends on the nature of the services involved; general browsing of the Site and initial informational inquiries typically do not involve personal health information.

10. Cross-Border Data Transfers

Some third-party service providers we use to operate the Site — for example, website hosting, the chat/dialogue box provider, or email service providers — may store or process information outside of Canada, including in the United States. Where this occurs, your information may become subject to the laws of that jurisdiction, including lawful access by foreign authorities. We take reasonable steps, including contractual safeguards, to protect information transferred in this way. If you have questions about where a specific vendor processes information, please contact us.

11. Children's Privacy

The Site is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or the applicable age of digital consent in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children through the Site. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can address it.

The Site may contain links to third-party websites. This Privacy Policy does not apply to those websites, and we are not responsible for their content or privacy practices. We encourage you to review the privacy policy of any third-party site you visit.
